Munich, June 7 – The 4th Day of Care was held under the motto of integration. On 5 July nearly 250 consultants played soccer in mixed teams together with young people of various national and cultural descents, cooked international dishes and arranged a job application training.
“Although we already lost in the first round, we had a lot of fun – at first we weren’t really used to playing with the older guys. But at the end we complemented each another and actually won the loser’s cup.” says Dennis from the buntkicktgut team Harras Bulls.
Stephan Marchner, member of management from ESPRiT Consulting, played in the buntkicktgut team FC Poitaba: “We saw good games and all members showed big commitment. The kids from buntkicktgut showed us a few tricks – there were really outstanding soccer players. Through sports we were able to communicate with them and could also motivate them to take part in the application training that offered them a real value for their professional future. This year´s Day of Care was a real success but we also want to support buntkicktgut in the long term and are already planning a couple of projects.”
The goal of this event was to overcome barriers on both sides and to diminish prejudices and fear of contact, as well as creating a common feeling of success and to experience mutual recognition – irrespective of the participants’ situation in life and their cultural background. With the application training consultants, supported by the ESPRiT HR Team gave the teenagers advice in terms of their CVs and simulated a job interview.
A mixed team of migrants and consultants also organized a multi-cultural foodbazar. They cut vegetables and created an extremely delicious meal. In order to be able to cook the dishes at home the participants got a “Day of Care recipe book” with dishes from several Asian and Oriental countries.
In the long term ESPRiT is going to support the project of the internet editorial office of buntkicktgut where kids play “reporters” and thus learn how to work in the journalistic field. ESPRiT will be active in the sense that the company is going to offer workshops for professional writing. In addition PR representatives will be working as mentors for the kids in order to help them write their articles. The main purpose of this project is to strengthen the kids´ self-esteem and make them feel better about working for buntkicktgut.
The entire Day of Care has been financed by ESPRiT Consulting. In addition ESPRiT is going to donate to buntkicktgut and is planning to hand over a check in the near future.

buntkicktgut
buntkicktgut is a project for intercultural understanding, and in its present form and dimensions, it is a unique example of organized street soccer in Germany. The goal of this initiative is to give young people of various cultural and national descents a worthwhile and healthy leisure activity, and to open up opportunities for social and cultural cooperation. buntkicktgut was set up in 1997 as part of support work provided for children and young people living in Munich accommodation for civil war refugees and asylum seekers. ESPRiT Day of Care
ESPRiT Consulting established the Day of Care initiative in 2002. For this initiative, ESPRiT takes on various different social challenges at two-year intervals. The background to this is the high value that the Munich consulting firm places on social commitment. To this end, community projects in the local area should be supported not just financially, but also promoted through the personal commitment and activities of the ESPRiT staff, who have agreed to forsake a works outing for this.
