ESPRiT News: Specialized Presentations and Live Demonstrations on the Subject of Business Intelligence and SAP Performance Management

In blazing sunshine, a large number of participants made their way to ESPRiT Consulting’s Business Intelligence and SAP Performance Management event at the BMW Group Classic in Munich last Tuesday.
The background to this event was the question of which business intelligence initiatives are worth making in the current market environment. In the first part of the event, the focus was on the tools and technologies that are currently available in this field. SAP presented Status Quo and a view of the SAP Business Objects Enterprise Performance Management Roadmap. In addition, live demonstrations, with the practical examples of Munich Airport and ETH Zurich, were used to give participants a direct insight into the look and feel of the tool. The second part of the presentations highlighted SAP BI initiatives that are worthwhile to undertake, even in, or perhaps because of, the current economic context. The contents of the subject blocks were the consolidation and harmonization of the SAP BI landscape at Linde, approaches for optimal liquidity management, and integrated group planning at BMW.

The participants at the event took every opportunity to discuss the issues, and not just during the presentations. Even in the breaks and during the guided tour through the history of BMW car and motorbike manufacturing that followed the presentation, the guests continued to exchange experiences.
