Day of Care 2008

The 4th Day of Care was held under the motto of integration. On 5 July nearly 250 consultants played soccer in mixed teams together with young people of various national and cultural descents, cooked international dishes and arranged a job application training. The goal of this event was to overcome barriers on both sides and to diminish prejudices and fear of contact, as well as creating a common feeling of success and to experience mutual recognition – irrespective of the participants’ situation in life and their cultural background. With the application training consultants, supported by the ESPRiT HR Team gave the teenagers advice in terms of their CVs and simulated a job interview. In the long term ESPRiT is going to support the project of the internet editorial office of buntkicktgut where kids play “reporters” and thus learn how to work in the journalistic field. ESPRiT will be active in the sense that the company is going to offer workshops for professional writing. In addition PR representatives will be working as mentors for the kids in order to help them write their articles. The main purpose of this project is to strengthen the kids´ self-esteem and make them feel better about working for buntkicktgut.

Day of Care 2006

On July 22, 2006, one of the hottest days of the summer, the sweat was pouring off the brows of all those involved in the renovation of the Gauting Girls’ Home. More than 50 ESPRiT employees tore down meters of wood paneling from the walls of this Caritas youth facility for therapeutic care. The corridors were completely redecorated, the garden was weeded and cleared of undergrowth, a new barbecue area was constructed, and a herb garden was planted with spices for the home’s kitchen. With the slogan “Measuring with a yardstick not calculating with a laptop”, the ESPRiT employees lived up to their reputation as representatives of a top-quality consulting team. In less than six hours, our team had completed all the tasks that had been left undone for years due to a lack of public funding. At lunchtime some doubts were still being expressed about the feasibility of getting all jobs done in one day. But in the end they got the job done. Thanks to the entire ESPRiT team, from interns to board members, the girls’ home looks as good as new. At the end, Caritas and ESPRiT employees celebrated their achievement with a barbecue and live music.

Day of Care 2004

The sun shone brightly for last Saturday’s Day of Care 2004. “Give it a go and be a winner!” was the rallying cry for this “It’s a Knockout” style event with competitors with disabilities playing alongside competitors without disabilities. The event was organized by the consulting firm ESPRiT Consulting in cooperation with Caritas Munich and took place at the Salesianum in the Munich district of Haidhausen. As well as the main event, which attracted 120 enthusiastic participants and around 200 spectators, there was an extensive program of sideshows to entertain the kids, including a bouncy castle, face painting, and a clown show. The proceeds of this charity event will go to help children and young people cared for by Caritas Munich.

Day of Care 2002

In August 2002 this led to an unusual works outing for the ESPRiT employees: Instead of going canoeing, rafting or trekking as normal, the consultants built a children’s playground at the Caritas Addiction Clinic Fasanenhof in Munich.
