ESPRiT Consulting AG was established in 1995 by four former Accenture consultants, and constitutes one of the leading independent consultancies in the German-speaking realm. ESPRiT employees around 200 people at locations in Munich, Frankfurt, Cologne, Hamburg, Berne (Switzerland), Zurich (Switzerland), Vienna (Austria), Graz (Austria), Princeton and Toronto. In 2006 ESPRiT posted annual revenues of around EUR 25.5 million.
ESPRiT Consulting offers large corporations, such as Allianz, BMW, Siemens, and Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) integrated management and IT consultancy. Thus ESPRiT is able to offer solutions to problems that occur anywhere along the value chain: From strategy to professional and technical concepts, continuing on to software installation, and finally to the complete implementation of new processes.
Initially ESPRiT concentrated mainly on SAP implementations for finance and controlling. 
In the course of various complete SAP implementation projects ESPRiT was able to extend its competence to the areas of sales and procurement logistics from 1996 onwards. In 1998 ESPRiT responded to the increasing demand for J2EE know-how in the context of complex integration projects by adopting this area as a second technical platform competence. In 2000 ESPRiT once again reacted to the requirements of the market, this time setting up their own strategy group to meet the demand for strategic consultancy services.
Today ESPRiT Consulting has the expertise to provide solutions for IT management and integration, corporate planning and customer and supplier management. The target groups that ESPRiT concentrates on include banking, insurance and reinsurance as well as industry.
The ESPRiT success has been honored by various awards over the past several years. For instance ESPRiT is regularly named one of the top 50 IT and systems consultancies in the Lünendonk list as well as the top 100 most innovative companies in Germany. In June 2006 the consultancy was chosen as one of Bavaria´s fastest growing businesses. "Bayerns Best 50" companies are characterized by extraordinary growth in revenue and the creation of jobs.   ESPRiT is also very active in human resource management and has been awarded the prize of the "career of the year in medium-sized businesses". Didem Steinbauer-Zeytin has started working for ESPRiT after finishing her studies and is now part of the ESPRiT management circle.
For specific projects, ESPRiT’s own competences are complemented by those of a closely-knit network of partners. The list of ESPRiT partners features leading software producers and consultancy firms, such as IBM, Microsoft, msg Systems and SAP but also universities such as the University of Witten/Herdecke.
ESPRiT competes mainly with giant consulting groups like Accenture, Bearing Point, CSC and Deloitte. That ESPRiT is awarded so many projects in the face of such competition can be put down to its ability to offer all the competences that the giants can offer with the flexibility and customer focus of an owner-operated consultancy. ESPRiT thus provides high-quality solutions at reasonable prices that are attained in close collaboration with the customer.
